Our grandson is obsessed with nursery rhymes and The Itsy-Bitsy Spider is one of his favorites。 I wanted to see what this chunky slider had to offer and to see， how they had made it interactive。 I borrowed a copy from the library and this copy is well-loved！ The purple spider on the front cover is torn and the overall outside of the book looks as if it's been handled plenty of times。 The book's edges are worn down， but every one of the sliders inside the book still work and to me， that means som Our grandson is obsessed with nursery rhymes and The Itsy-Bitsy Spider is one of his favorites。 I wanted to see what this chunky slider had to offer and to see， how they had made it interactive。 I borrowed a copy from the library and this copy is well-loved！ The purple spider on the front cover is torn and the overall outside of the book looks as if it's been handled plenty of times。 The book's edges are worn down， but every one of the sliders inside the book still work and to me， that means something。 When they say chunky， they meant chunky as the pages of this book are thick！ There are actually only 8 pages in this book， meaning there are 4 of the 2 page-spread sections to read。 It's only the one verse of the Itsy-Bitsy Spider Song too， they don't add or subtract any words from the original song either。 With big， black， bold font you can read/sing the song as you follow along with the illustrations and do the sliders。 The sliders are easy to work and they're highlighted on each page。 They actually show you which direction you're supposed to be moving/sliding them， to match the storyline。 As you move the slider， activity is occurring on the page: the spider disappears into the waterspout， water falls from the cloud， a kitty appears in a window， and some flowers pop out， just to mention a few。 I think it's a cute book and my eighteen-month-old grandson did enjoy it。 4。5 stars 。。。more
